About

Ready to go from surviving to thriving?

Hi, I'm Dr. Carrie Sweetser, a licensed clinical psychologist in the Twin Cities. I started my private practice Memor (latin for mindful), after 15 years of providing therapy. I have expertise in a variety of evidence based treatments which I draw on to provide you with individualized, evidence based care. I help teens and adults who often feel weighed down by anxiety or depression and feel like they’re ‘too sensitive’ for the world. Together, we create space to understand what’s really going on beneath the surface and build tools for self-compassion and calm. My approach is collaborative, gentle, and grounded in mindfulness and acceptance, it’s about helping you feel more at home in yourself. Starting therapy can be overwhelming, especially when you're already carrying so much. Maybe you feel drained by the intensity of your emotions and how deeply affected you are by others and the world around you. Maybe you feel stuck in your head, constantly overthinking, or pushing yourself to meet impossible standards. You care a lot, often about others more than yourself, and you’re tired of feeling like it’s never enough. You’re craving space to just be, without judgment or pressure to have it all figured out. You want tools to cope and space to be heard. You want someone who truly gets what it’s like to walk in your shoes. In therapy, I create a safe, supportive space where your story is honored and your goals are central. We’ll work together to help you let go of your self-judgments and limiting beliefs. My goal is to empower you to make the changes needed for the life you want, and to help you feel more balanced, resilient, and connected. Anxiety and depression can feel heavy, but beneath them lies deep emotional awareness and sensitivity. The ability to feel deeply and care profoundly are strengths that can foster resilience and growth. Together, we can transform worry into understanding and pain into growth. Reaching out for help can be hard, but its a powerful first step toward healing. THROUGH THERAPY, MY CLIENTS OFTEN MAKE THE FOLLOWING TRANSFORMATIONS: -More present in their lives -Increased self-compassion and self-acceptance -Enhanced coping and emotion regulation skills -Greater self-awareness -Strengthened relationships -Enhanced resilience -Improved confidence and self-esteem -Reformed unrealistic standards -Found peace and meaning through processing grief and loss -Developed daily habits to support physical and mental health -Felt more connected, balanced, and empowered -Believed they are enough -Valued their highly sensitive person temperament -Reduced avoidance, allowing them to live authentically according to their vales EDUCATION AND TRAINING Santa Clara University - Bachelor of Science in Psychology PAU-Stanford PsyD Consortium - (formerly PGSP-Stanford) Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology Stanford University School of Medicine: Specialized training in postpartum traumatic stress in mothers with preterm infants.
